Fixing stringing and prints that come loose
Two of the most common print problems, and what to check first.
Stringing
Thin threads between parts of a print usually mean plastic is leaking while the nozzle travels. Dry the filament first, because moisture makes stringing worse.
Next, lower the nozzle temperature in 5 °C steps and check your retraction settings. A temperature tower or retraction test shows the result quickly.
Prints that come loose
Start by cleaning the plate. Fingerprints are a common cause, and many plates clean well with warm water and dish soap. Check your plate's instructions first.
Then check the first layer. It should be slightly squashed and leave no gaps between lines. If it isn't, level the bed or adjust the Z offset.
If corners still lift, add a brim, raise the bed temperature slightly within the filament's range and keep drafts away from the printer.
